Taking Out the Boat Thanks to Mercury Oil

Domo-Online 12-15-2014 Pic 2I truly feel at home when I’m out on the water. Boating is a great way for me to relax, bond with friends and family, and even acquire food if I’m going out there to fish. I don’t always have to be fishing when I’m on a boat though. Generally, I just enjoy spending time on the water, regardless of the occasion.

I’m lucky that I live in a place where the weather is always generally nice enough to take the boat out. Even during the winter, it never gets so cold that boating becomes unpleasant. As long as I’m loaded up on Mercury oil and other maintenance supplies, I can take out my boat whenever I want.

Avoiding the Stores with a Mercury Oil 55 Gallon Drum

Domo-Online 12-8-2014 Pic 2If you’ve been to a physical store at all in the month of December, you’ve probably realized that it’s horrible. Everyone is out shopping for the holidays and there’s a mad rush through every single store from Black Friday until the end of the year. It makes it a really unpleasant experience to be in a store.

As someone who doesn’t really like being in stores in the first place, I especially prefer to avoid them around the holidays. That’s one of the reasons that I like to buy in bulk: I don’t have to go to the stores as often. Thus, I can pick up a Mercury oil 55 gallon drum for my boat and not have to think about oil again for a long time.

Trusting in Mercury Premium Plus Synthetic Oil to Power My Summer Fun

domo-online blog 3 11-24-14I live in dreary old Seattle for nine months out of the year. I deal with the traffic every day, the crowds, the bad attitudes from people too cold and wet to offer more than a grumble of hello in the morning. But for three months every year, I am free. During the summer, I am far away from the cloudy skies of Puget Sound, and happy for it!

I built a house in Stehekin, Washington, on the east side of the cascades where we see more sun and fire than we do rain and clouds. My house borders one of the biggest lakes in the country, and you can bet that I’m on that water most days I’m on vacation. Because it’s such a big lake, keeping my boat in shape is extremely important for safety. That’s why I use Mercury premium plus synthetic oil to keep my boat healthy. It’s an oil I can trust all summer long.

Using Mercury 2 Cycle Oil for the Last 30 Years Has Benefited My Equipment and My Sanity

I hate trying out new products. It seems that these days, nine times out of ten, I’m disappointed in whatever I’ve bought. It all seems cheaply made these days, with plastic parts or sub-par ingredients. That’s why when I find a product that works, I stick with it and pray that it never changes.

I’ve been using Mercury 2 cycle oil since the 1980s, if that’s any indication of a good product. Every time I perform a tune-up on my engines, I’m always amazed at how clean the carburetors are and the spark plugs always look simply, well, sparkling! It’s a great product that’s found at a competitive price. You just can’t go wrong with Mercury!

The Best Oil for My Outboard: Mercury 2 Stroke Oil

domo-online blog 2 11-10-14I once used to fill my outboard with whatever cheap oil was available and positioned in front of my face. After about a year of doing this, my new boat ran like it’d been sitting in a boat yard collecting moss for ten years. The motor would smoke and cough. I knew my cheap ways had gotten me into a deep hole of engine trouble.

That’s when I switched to Mercury 2 stroke oil. I had my engine cleaned and overhauled so I could start from scratch and use the right product to protect my engine. Now when I venture out into the Sound, I’m not worried about being stranded due to engine failure. Now I’m confident in my engine’s performance.

Mercury Engine Oil Keeps My Mercury Motors Running Efficiently

domo online blog 3 11-03-14You can’t easily get away with using a different grade of oil without experiencing serious problems as a result. When you have a motor that is made by a specific company that makes a lot of other boating equipment, it is much more important that you use the right oil. The right oil is made to make these motors operate well.

For example when I bought a Mercury outboard motor, I knew that I would not be able to use just any old oil. To make sure that the motor ran as efficiently and expertly as it was intended, I had to make sure that I used the Mercury engine oil that actually went with it. Only this type of oil could ensure that my motor kept working the way that it was intended to.

Mercury Oil is a Big Part of Keeping a Motor Running Well

When I owned a boat when I was far younger, I wasn’t thinking much further ahead than my next fishing trip. I know that there were times that I went out with my boat where the motor didn’t have very much oil in with the gasoline making sure that all of the parts stayed lubricated. When I did have the right amount of oil, it was always the cheapest type.

At the time, I thought that I was being thrifty and saving money in the long run. Then of course my motor started having problems and eventually it needed to be replaced. A new motor cost me a lot more than regularly buying plenty of Mercury oil would have in the long run. I learned my lesson though. Now I only use good quality oil and use the right amount of it.

Some Mercury Outboard Oil for a Trip Around the Island

domo online blog 2 10-06-14One of my friends has a house that is on an island out in the bay. He uses the house mostly as a summer vacation home, but on nice weekends he goes out to the house during the fall and spring as well. He loves being able to be close to the water where he can take his boat out and look for some of the sea creatures that live along the coast and in the deeper water.

Last weekend, he and I went out to his vacation home so that we could take his boat out. The weather was really nice and many of the weather stations were reporting that it would be the last good weekend of the year. We got his boat ready by feeding it some gasoline and some Mercury outboard oil. Once it was ready we zipped around the island enjoying the sights.

Deciding to Use Mercury Premium Plus with the Boat Motor

My father has always been very particular about what kind of oil goes into his boat motors. He is careful to make sure that all of the boat motors that he owns use the type of oil that is actually best for their operation. Since he has a couple of different motors on the different boats that he uses, he has a few different types of oil that he uses regularly in the different motors.

In one of his newest motors, he has decided to start using Mercury premium plus oil. He did a lot of research on the motor and the kind of oil that it would need before deciding on a brand and type of oil to use. This is the type of oil that a lot of people that he has asked about the motor have recommended. So far he has enjoyed the way that the motor runs with it.

Adding Mercury 2 Cycle Oil Before Heading to the Boat Launch

domo online blog 3 9-22-14When one of my friends bought a new boat motor from someone online, he asked me to come with him when he took it out with his boat for the first time. I agreed because I wanted to see how the motor ran since he had gotten a really good deal on it. We decided that we were going to take the boat on a lake close to his house to give the motor a good trial run.

Before heading to the boat launch, we made sure that the motor was filled with gasoline and Mercury 2 cycle oil. We were nervous before we first started up the engine, but the engine started perfectly and sounded great. We cruised around the lake with the outboard motor without experiencing any problems with it. It seems that my friend got a great deal on an excellent boat motor.

Mercury Optimax is Mercury 2 Stroke Oil Specifically Made to Run Cleaner

domo online blog 2 9-08-14When it comes to running a two stroke motor in the cleanest way possible, it takes a special kind of oil. Not every type of oil works in a way to keep carbon from building up on the parts of an outboard motor. The best type of oil for this job is oil that is synthetic and made by the same people who made your outboard motor. They know the needs of the motor best.

For Mercury Optimax motors, the right kind of oil is Optimax oil that is made for these motors. This is Mercury 2 stroke oil that is synthetic. It runs very cleanly and efficiently, minimizing carbon build up inside of an engine. Using this oil for the outboard motors that are Mercury Optimax motors will make it so that these motors run well for a long period of time.

Mercury Engine Oil to Give an Old Boat New Life

domo online blog 3 9-02-14Since it was a long weekend, I spent a good chunk of my time working an old boat that one of my friends bought and wants to have repaired by next summer. I told him that I would help him when he first purchased the boat, but I hadn’t been able to get time to help him until last weekend. Last weekend, our focus was mainly on cleaning everything up.

The first thing that we did was pressure wash the entire boat to get all of the grime that had built up on it over the last several years to come off. It took a long time to work all of the scum that had collected on it off of the boat. After that we emptied all of the gasoline and oil out of the boat. Eventually, we’ll replace the oil with Mercury engine oil when the boat is actually ready to go out on the water.
