Mercury Engine Oil is the Only Kind Made Specially for a Mercury Engine

domo-online blog 2 12-07-15When I looked at motors that could go on the back of my boat initially, I was able to find a great motor that was made by Mercury. I loved the motor since it was supposed to be one that was very powerful and also more efficient. It ran amazingly well and was a motor that I really felt proud of when I had it out on the water.

One of the slightly annoying things about it is that it is a motor that must be run on a very specific type of oil since it needs an oil that is specially formulated for it. I only run Mercury engine oil in the engine because I know this kind of oil is completely made for the outboard. I don’t have to worry about anything going wrong with this type of oil at least.

domo-online blog 2 11-09-15When I last bought oil for my boat, I was really surprised by how expensive it was to buy a small container of oil for the boat. Mercury Engine Oil Offers My Motor with Better Oil to Help with Its Performance

domo-online blog 5 10-12-15The boat that I use whenever I go out fishing is a fairly small fishing boat that is good for launching in lakes near to my home. When I got it, it came with an older outboard motor that I always had a hard time starting. There were several different times where I thought I might be stranded in the middle of a lake just because my motor wouldn’t start up again.

When it came time to replace this outboard, I looked for something that would be efficient and cleaner burning than my current outboard. I ended up buying a Mercury Optimax outboard that would run well on my little boat. With Mercury engine oil, I can keep this outboard performing excellently with optimal efficiency.

Mercury 2 Cycle Oil Properly Lubricates All of the Moving Pieces of My Optimax Motor

domo-online blog 4 10-05-15One of the things that most people understand about motors is that they need oil so that all of the different pieces of the motor continue to move and function as they should. Of course, cheap oil and cheap gasoline can end up leaving debris in your engine which can have the opposite effect on an engine. The debris can clog the engine and make it so some parts don’t move right.

When I bought my Optimax motor for my boat, I was determined to make sure that I kept it in good condition by avoiding cheap gasoline and cheap oil. I never use anything other than Mercury 2 cycle oil and premium gasoline types as well. This has kept each piece of my motor moving correctly without risk of dangerous build up.

I eventually was able to find the perfect direct fuel injected outboard motor for my boat. As soon as I had the money, I was able to start running the motor with Mercury Premium Plus oil with the hopes that my new motor would last a lot longer than the last one.

Mercury 2 Stroke Oil Fueled My Day on the Water While I Vacationed

domo-online blog 1 9-28-15When I was on vacation last week, I decided that it would be fun to rent a small boat and take it out on the water so that I would be able to do a bit of fishing. Back at home, I have my own boat that I know how to handle, so I knew that I would be fine taking out a rental boat that was of similar size to the one I had at home. I still felt a bit nervous about renting a boat.

When I stepped on the boat, I was glad to find that the boat that I had rented was not nearly as foreign as I had expected it to be. It had a wonderful Mercury Optimax outboard just like the one that I have back at home so I was completely familiar with it. When I asked the rental place what oil they ran in it, I was relieved when they told me that they used Mercury 2 stroke oil.

The Basics of Boat Maintenance with Mercury Optimax Oil

Domo-Online 9-21-2015 Pic 5Anyone that goes boating on a regular basis should know the basics of boat maintenance. For major problems, you’re still probably going to want to take the boat to a mechanic or another kind of specialist. However, with basic boat maintenance like putting in the oil, you should have some idea of how to do that yourself.

For starters, you have to know which oil is appropriate for your boat, which is usually decided based on the type of engine that your boat has. For my boat, I make sure that it’s filled up with Mercury Optimax oil whenever I’m doing maintenance on it. This helps to ensure that my boat is working the best it can.
