Advantages of Evinrude XD100 Oil

evinrude_etec150_high_torqueNavigating through brands and promises is difficult when it comes to choosing the right oil for your two stroke engine. With every brand promising an extended life for your engine, it can be difficult to decipher which ones will be helpful and which brands are selling false hope for a smoothly operating vehicle.

Evinrude XD100 oil is a premium synthetic oil. The oil can be used in outboard engines, direct injection or oil injected outboard engines. The unsurpassed protection against friction and wear helps against combustion deposits while extending engine life. The best part for many customers is the lack of smoke, ash and odor while using a motor.

Boat Motor Oil for Cathartic Fishing Trips

k-beach-phillips-in-river-boat-1956-webThere’s nothing I love more than going fishing with my friends. I find it to be an extremely cathartic experience that helps me to unwind. It’s also a good way to catch up with your buddies if you don’t get a chance to see them that often throughout the week. Since most of my friends and I have very busy schedules, we tend to have a lot to talk about when we fish on the weekends.

Usually, I’ll just fill up my boat with boat motor oil and check out whether or not any other maintenance needs to be done for my boat on Wednesday or Thursday night, so that I can know for sure that my boat will be ready to go by the weekend. Usually, my friends and I will get up early on either a Saturday or a Sunday and we head out to a nearby lake for fishing.

Trusted Brands of Outboard Motor Oil

suzuki-outboard-propellers-300x199In the time that I worked as an assistant in a boat mechanic’s workshop, I learned a great deal about the intricacies of boats and boat maintenance. Not only did I learn about the inner workings of boats themselves, but I also learned a lot about what types of items were used when mechanics did boat maintenance. I particularly remember learning about the brands they trusted.

The brands of outboard motor oil that they tended to trust the most were Yamaha, Mercury, and Evinrude. The things that I learned while working in that shop have carried over to my own life now that I have a boat of my own, so I always know what sorts of things I need to purchase when doing maintenance on my boat.

Rushing To Prepare With Yamaha Oil

yamaha_secaThe fishing trip that I go on with my friends every year is coming up quickly and I need to speed up my preparedness for the event. I’ve gotten new fishing rods and fishing line and bait, but there are still some things that I need to do with my actual boat before we head out onto the water.

In particular, I need to ensure that it’s clean and well-maintained. I want to make sure that we are safe and able to have a great time without having to worry about any problems with the boat. Obviously, I’m going to make sure to fill the boat up with Yamaha oil before we head out. Wouldn’t want any serious problems to occur with the boat, would we?

Fishing In Iowa And Outboard Motor Oil

038335_headlineThough it’s about as far away from oceans that you could be, Iowa still manages to have plenty of awesome places for fishing. In particular, I like to take my boat out to the Mississippi River in the east. It’s pretty well known for having a very broad assortment of fish such as bass, catfish, pike, walleye, and panfish. There are tons of access points to the river as well.

There are other places to fish in Iowa as well, such as a number of lakes, trout streams, smaller rivers, and the Missouri River on the west, where most people go to catch blue catfish. All you need to do is get a fishing license, a boat, and fuel up with some outboard motor oil, and you’re ready to head out on the water to catch some fish.

Boat Safety With Optimax Oil

optimax with under waterBoating is an excellent pastime if you live nearby an open body of water, but it’s always important to remember to stay safe with your boat. There are a lot of rules and laws that are typically in place (though they vary from state to state) that have been designed to ensure the safety of yourself and of everyone else out on the water when you’re out boating.

For instance, drinking and boating is illegal and it can be something that is very dangerous. It’s also very important to keep items like lifejackets on your boat, so that if an accident occurs, you are prepared. Another simple way to make sure you stay safe is by keeping your boat maintained; filling it up with Optimax oil is usually a pretty good be

Yamalube Oil Or Something Else?

black-oilA lot of people ask what the differences between most oils are. It is true that, at its core, most oils do the same exact thing. They lubricate the engine and keep it from overheating. Some oils do it better than others because some oils are fully synthetic and other are just semi-synthetic. Manufacturers suggest that you use their specific brands of oil for their engines but what happens if you use something else?

Yamaha recommends that I use their specific brand of Yamalube Oil on my outboard engine. They say that their oil is specially formulated for their engines and using something else might have negative impacts on the engine. I heard from other people that they don’t like using the more expensive oil because the cheaper oil does pretty much the same thing than its more expensive counterparts. My preference is to stick to what the manufacturer tells you to avoid unnecessary harm to a very expensive piece of equipment. I would much rather spend a few extra dollars on motor oil than to have to replace my outboard engine. But to each his own, I guess.

Trip To The Mountains

Heli-Skiing-in-the-Purcell-Mountins-BCA few friends and I went up to the mountains for a weekend of snowboarding.  It was our first time going all season and we were excited to finally be getting some runs in.  We usually go snowmobiling too when we make it up to the mountains so we booked a couple of snowmobiles for the following afternoon and we were set.

We picked up the snowmobiles after a morning of solid runs down the mountain.  The rental person told us that one of the snowmobiles has been overheating lately and informed us that he just put in some fresh snowmobile oil into the engine to prevent any problems for us.  It was a fun afternoon.  We raced each other and went down some trails.  Thankfully the snowmobile did not overheat so everything went off without a hitch.

The Pelican

percy-the-pelican-kirsten-givingI was doing some maintenance on my boat the other day when I came upon a curious pelican.  I usually see these things floating around in the water, looking for fish to snatch up, but I’ve never had one come onto my boat.  Maybe it smelled some fish I caught earlier in the day or maybe it was just curious about the floating machines we use to navigate through the water.

I know pelicans aren’t usually aggressive unless they feel like they’re being attacked but I saw that this particular pelican was looking to start some trouble.  It began rummaging through my deck; knocking over buckets and sifting through some bags I had laid out.  It got a hold of some outboard motor oil and spilled an entire gallon of it all over the deck.  I’m usually not violent towards animals but I had to do something before this pelican made even more of a mess.  I trapped it in a fishing net and threw it overboard.  At least next time I know not to leave stuff out on my deck.

Can Never Get Enough Oil

user65932_pic155259_1160865991Sometimes finding motor oil at the beginning of the boating season can be a bit difficult because the stores often end up picked through by everyone excited to go out boating and trying to get their boat prepared the way that it needs to be. One way is to just go online and get it, but even if you’re doing that, more is always better than less.

A good way to make sure you’re not hurting for it is to pick up bulk motor oil in the winter. That way, when the rush comes in after winter is over and boating season is about to commence, you’ll already be a step ahead of everybody else and won’t have anything to worry about, which I’m certain will be a load off of your shoulders if you’re as big a boating fan as I am.

Maintenance After Winter

512502Don’t forget to go through the motions when it comes to boat maintenance after the winter season is over! I know that it’s very easy to forget about your boat when the lakes are iced over or when it’s just flat-out too cold to even really go outside, depending on where you live.

You’ve got to make sure everything is running fine when winter is over though because there’s no other time that’s more likely for your boat to break down (or at least mess up in some way) on you. It’s important to make sure that your boat motor oil has been changed and is up to standard before you go out on any journeys on your boat.

Brand Loyalty, or a Lack Thereof

I have a tendency to be loyal to particular brands and often find myself unwavering when it comes to brands, aside from a few particular exceptions, which I’ll get to in a minute. For instance, I refuse to purchase any toaster pastries that aren’t Pop-Tarts and I won’t buy any tissues that aren’t Puffs.

I’m not particularly picky when it comes to picking a brand for my outboard motor oil for some reason though. I think it’s because I’ve done a number of comparisons on the Internet and haven’t been able to find too much discrepancy between the different brands. As long as you pick one of the best ones such as Mercury or Yamaha, you’re pretty much good to go.
