Mixing Yamalube 2M with Other Brands?

caremaint-maintmat-lubeOne thing that I’ve learned from my boating experiences is to not mix and match oils from different brands. Usually, mixing oils from the same brand is not a problem at all, but there are plenty of bad things that can occur from mixing two different oils together, which is why it is generally not recommended. This is something that didn’t happen to me, but did happen to a friend of mine.

My friend usually used Yamalube 2M, but ran out while filling up his boat and decided to mix it with another brand of oil. The dyes and additives in these oils were not compatible and it clogged up the fuel injections system, which was an expensive thing that had to be fixed. Due to his own mistake, I try to make sure to burn or drain out all the oil if I ever change brands.

Sunburned, but Remembered Yamalube 2M Oil

33andongobiI went on a long boating trip with my friends this weekend and I wound up with the worst sunburn that I’ve gotten in years. I look like a cartoon character; the amount of redness on my face and arms is unreal. My lips and the tiny bald spot on my head even managed to get completely sunburned. Taking a shower has turned into a painful experience.

I can’t believe that I remembered to load up on Yamalube 2M oil for my boat but I forgot to load up on sunscreen for myself. The boat ran perfectly, but I’ll be shedding skin like a snake for a while. Next time, I’d better make sure that I’m more prepared unless I want to go through the agony of being badly sunburned again, which really is no fun at all.

Fishfinders and Yamaha 2M Oil

1929043I got one of those nifty fishfinder devices recently and I was just itching to test it out on my most recent fishing trip. I’ve had a lot of friends get some great results from these fishfinders so I figured it’d be worth picking one up because I love going fishing, but I hate it when I go on a fishing trip and wind up not catching anything at all.

I rounded up some of my buddies who were looking to blow off some steam with a fishing trip, got my boat filled up as necessary with fuel and Yamaha 2M oil, and we got the show on the road. My fishfinder worked wonders and we wound up being able to catch more fish than we ever have together before. I won’t be leaving on a fishing trip anytime soon without it.

Yamalube 2M For Mother’s Day

9632409-a-dirt-bike-rider-gets-air-during-a-stuntA lot of people learned to fish and do outdoorsy things from their fathers; my dad wasn’t around much when I was a kid, but my mom was just as outdoorsy and well-versed as any of my friends’ dads growing up. She’s the one who taught me how to fish and how to hunt and pretty much everything I ever needed to know about enjoying the great outdoors.

Although I’m grown now, my mom and I still go on camping trips together where we’ll go fishing and hunting. Sometimes we’ll even take my mom’s boat out and go out somewhere on a nice day for a fishing trip. Whenever Mother’s Day or her birthday comes around, I always know to get her something boat-related, like a bottle of Yamalube 2M.

Yamaha 2M Oil For A Father-Son Fishing Trip

father_son_salmon_fishingEvery year, my father and I go on an annual fishing trip. One caveat to the trip is that we have to decide on a fishing location somewhere that we have never been before. Usually, this means we’ll go to a different lake nearby or something like that, though we did splurge one year and visited South America for a pretty spectacular fishing trip.

This year, however, we’re keeping it low-key, though we did realize that traveling is a fun thing to do when it comes to fishing. What we’re doing this year is loading up with Yamaha 2M oil and taking the boat over to Oregon for some quality father-son bonding time. Every year has been really fun and it’s nice to be able to spend some time with my dad.

Is Yamalube 2m oil Adequate Enough For Me?

Quads in QueenstownI’m always worried that I’m not taking good enough care of my outboard engine. My boat is the second biggest purchase of my life so I want to make sure that it’s going to last and not give out on me in a few years. I follow the manufacturer’s directions on how to maintain it and I often ask mechanics to give me tips and advice.

The other day, I was wondering if I should change the kind of oil I am using on my outboard engine. I currently use Yamalube 2m Oil and it works fine for me, but I’m curious if another brand will have more benefits. I want to try some fully synthetic oil because I read that it protects the engine better. My current oil is only partially synthetic. The other kind is more expensive so I am kind of apprehensive to switch because it might do the same things my current oil does, but for a higher price. Most people say that it can be beneficial to switch but using the same brand also a safe way to go. I think I’m just going to stick with what I am currently doing.

Some Wasted Yamaha 2m Oil

IMG_12My son likes to rummage through my tool bench in the garage to find the tools he needs to build his birdhouses. My son learned how to build them in shop class in school and he’s taken a liking to working with his hands. The birdhouses he builds are getting more intricate and he is able to sell them to our neighbors for a reasonable price. I’m glad he found a hobby.

Every so often, he would forget to clean up his mess in the garage. He would leave tools lying around and one time he knocked over some of my Yamaha 2m oil and just left the spill there for two whole days. It stained the floor but he was responsible enough to replace what he spilled. I taught him the value of a dollar and how he shouldn’t waste things if he could help it. He said he learned his lesson and now he cleans up every time.

Nautical Supplies Store

I went to a nautical supplies store with a friend of mine. They sell all kinds of things there, from scuba gear to fishing rods to boating equipment. Personally, I was there to pick up some fly fishing tackle. I’ve been going fishing for a long time but I’d never done any fly fishing before and I thought it’d be something new and fun to do to mix up our next fishing trip.

While I was taking a look at the different fly rods and accessories that the store had available, my friend was checking out general boating supplies because he recently got a new boat. He wound up picking up some Yamalube 2M oil for his boat because he needed to do some maintenance on it.

Boat Maintenance

When you’re thinking about boat maintenance, there are a lot of things to consider. Obviously, it’s good to get a mechanic or someone who knows boats fairly well to make sure everything’s in good shape before you take it out on the water. You should also make sure it’s clean, because rust and other filth can be very harmful to your boat.

Just don’t forget to apply some Yamalube 2M oil to your boat’s engine, if that’s what it calls for, so you can be sure that your boat’s in great condition before you take it out on open water. Nothing’s worse than getting stuck out in the middle of a lake or the ocean because you didn’t properly take care of your boat.

Shark Fishing in Nova Scotia

I’ve got a friend who recently moved out to Nova Scotia for a job. I didn’t even know where Nova Scotia was, other than it being in Canada. It’s actually all the way on the east of Canada, surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean. Considering it’s right out there on the ocean, it’s a pretty interesting place to go fishing, which was what we decided to do when I flew out and visited him.

He took me out to Blue Shark Fishing Charters, which is a professional sport fishing charter service. They took us out the fish for sharks! It was catch and release, but it was still really interesting fishing for sharks out on the open ocean, which is something I’d certainly never done before. I bought the guys a bottle of Yamaha 2M oil for their boat to thank them for such a great time.

Synthetic Oils and Sports Cars

For the best protection, many high-end sports cars come filled with synthetic oil. “For most applications, stick with the manufacturer’s recommended oil. But if you want to better protect your engine over the long term, especially against extreme abuse like towing or constant stop-and-go-traffic, synthetic might be for you,” said Ron Sullivan, Penzoil’s technology manager, to “Popular Mechanics.”

What Sullivan said rings true for outboard motors, as well. Synthetic oils flow regardless of temperature, which helps with cranking in cold temperatures and flow in exceedingly hot temperatures. Synthetics might be right for you, but first start with what your manufacturer recommends, which is frequently Yamalube 2M.

Synthetic Oil Myth Busted

It is surprising the number of boat owners who don’t understand what goes into synthetic oil. Do a quick poll of your boating buddies and I’ll bet that they think synthetic oil never came from nature. This couldn’t be further from the truth.

Synthetic oil derives from natural oil. The natural oil is simply refined to a higher degree and improved upon with complex additives for both everyday use and use in extreme conditions. If you’re still in doubt; don’t worry because you can stick with Yamalube 2-M.
