Treat Your New Boat Right with the Best Outboard Motor Oil

Congratulations! You’ve bought a boat that you love and you’re excited for all of the trips that you’re going to be taking on it. An outboard motor means that you don’t have to rely on your own muscles to get you around your favorite lakes and rivers; you can cruise right out to the best fishing spots and cast without even breaking a sweat. A new boat is an excellent investment that feels great, especially when you take it out for the first time and feel that engine purring away. But while you’re celebrating, don’t forget that nothing stays new forever; good upkeep is going to be what keeps your investment like new. But don’t be intimidated by the hurtles of taking good care of your new boat, because we’re here to help you make all the important choices. Today, let’s look at choosing the best outboard motor oil for your new purchase.

The first thing you will want to look for in any motor oil is a certification from the National Marine Manufacturers Association. The NMMA is around to help boat manufacturers comply with all of the rules and regulations for boating safety and construction standards, so customers that see the NMMA certification can feel good about the rigorous testing and compliance requirements that the products had to go through. When it comes to oil, only the best outboard motor oil is certified by the NMMA, so it’s always worth it to look for that reassurance when you’re shopping for your new boat’s oil.

Next, be sure that you are selecting the right oil for your type of engine. A two-stroke engine needs TC-W3 oil and a four-stroke engine needs FC-W oil to function at its very best. Not sure what you have? Take a look at your manual or look it up online to make sure! Choosing name-brand oil like Yamalube, Mercury or Yamalube is going to help your outboard engine to function well with regular maintenance, as long as you follow a strict schedule and don’t skimp. Top-quality oil is especially important for marine engines because they deal with more stress than your regular car. After all, a boat goes through lots of tough conditions, including moisture, corrosion and carbon deposits, along with being used at higher operating speeds than most cars. You also take your boat out of the water during the off seasons, meaning big periods of sitting without running. Limit damage to your engine with fabulous outboard engine oil.

Certified 2 Stroke Oil will Keep You Out on the Water

Is there anything better than a day out on the water in your boat? We don’t think so! Boats are perfect for so many different activities. Some of us love to get out there on the lake and shut the engine off, letting the lap of the water against your hull, the birdsong and the wind in the trees be the only sound as we cast our lure and wait for the big one to bite. Or maybe you love to troll around, pulling family and friends on skis or inner tubes and having a great time enjoying those hot summer months. Perhaps you’re a boat owner that likes to take your boat out into the ocean, almost so far away that you can’t see the shore, to go deep sea fishing. Whatever you love to do out on the water, you know that keeping your boat in top shape is the difference between a great weekend with family and a frustrating weekend doing last-minute fixes and repairs. There is plenty of manual labor that goes into keeping your boat running smoothly, but one way to cut back on the amount of muscle and man power that you need to put into it is invest only in great oil. If you’re looking for the best 2 stroke oil for your favorite vehicle, we’ve got some tips and tricks that will keep that boat humming.

First and foremost, it’s important to remember that car oil and boat oil are very, very different animals. So don’t head to the same section where you get oil for your minivan! Why? Water corrodes engines in a way that car engines just don’t have to deal with. So great 2 stroke oil protects your 2 stroke boat engine from corrosion better than car oil would, giving you a longer-lasting engine that needs fewer tune-ups. Marine oil is designed to stand up to wear and tear that comes from running your outboard engine; car oil doesn’t have the properties that will shield your engine from water’s corrosive effects.

Investing in a certified outboard oil is going to give you the best results, so always shop around for great deals on the brands that are going to ensure your engine has a long, healthy life, like Evinrude, Mercury and Yamalube. Your 2 stroke outboard engine will enjoy oils with a TC-W3 rating; this rating ensures that your oil has the best level of lubrication and offers the engine protection that you need. Get out on the water!

A Tale About Wave Runner Oil

When Jimmy hit the first wave, his knees buckled. When he recovered and hit the second wave the WaveRunner took over and its wicked lean straightened him right out. He was cutting through waves now that he had the hang of it and nothing would stop him. He stayed out on the water for nearly an hour and pushed his WaveRunner hard. He took a break and let “Willie” rest a bit. He needed to change the oil. HE didn’t care because he was going to push through. Then Larry came along. He pulled up and asked, “What’s going down, Jimmy?” Jimmy didn’t reply, he just squirted some fresh water from his bottle into his face and hair. He knew why Larry was here. It was the competition and the fire Jimmy had. They gave each other a hard time but they respected each other. Thing about Larry was, he wasn’t as talented as Jimmy, but he took good care of his WaveRunner. Keeping the WaveRunner oil topped off and clean as it could be. He didn’t like getting in the way between him and the water and if his WaveRunner wasn’t running well, that would come between him and the waves.

Jennifer sat on her floating duck in between Jimmy and Larry. It was an unofficial race, but it was still a race. She dropped her right arm with the red bandana and the two sped off. Jimmy got the jump because he knew just how and when to lean and when to press. Larry didn’t seem to budge and he surely, he didn’t panic. The girls were all screaming for Jimmy and everyone on the beach came closer to see them hit the wake of a big yacht out on the sound. Larry hit it with his usual style and Jimmy kind of leaned into it but he didn’t hit the wave square and kind of faded off. He tried to restore his balance, but Larry took the lead. Jimmy could almost hear Larry smiling as he hit the other side of the wake.

Larry caught up to the yacht and high fived Jennifer who was waiting for him with that red bandana again. Jimmy’s WaveRunner didn’t have the power to recover and he felt it drag just enough to give Larry another win. Jimmy learned a valuable lesson that day as he saw Jennifer ride off into the sunset on Larry’s yacht. He needed to take much better care of his vehicle. Thanks for coming by and thanks for reading. If you have a unique WaveRunner tale or care tips to share with the blogs, we would love to hear from you.

Trust in Yamalube

Thank you for coming by the blog and thank you for reading. In this blog we will talk a little bit about Yamalube and some of its uses and tell a fun story about racing. “Let up on the throttle Hank!” Jeff said, oil was squirting everywhere. Hank gave him one of those looks and rolled his eyes. “Well, you’d have used Yamalube instead of the wrong stuff, you wouldn’t need to worry about me and my throttle now would you? And I don’t appreciate you pulling the WaveRunner up that far into the sand either, do you know what you could’ve done to her?” Hank was none too happy. Not only did his friend Jeff run his oil too low and push his WaveRunner too hard, he also put in some oil that he’d never even heard of. Hank swore by Yamalube, it was the only thing specifically designed to handle what Hank would put his WaveRunner through on Lake Whitney.

The heat didn’t help the two get along better, so, after a while Jeff just disappeared from the scene, leaving Hank to finish changing the oil and doing his tune-up. Hank was able to recover and took off his dirty shirt and couldn’t wait to get the WaveRunner back into the waves. The waves and mist cooled him off. There was nothing more invigorating than then spraying another WaveRunner and then hitting one of those 5 footers head on. He learned how to make it drift and he could almost treat it like a skateboard after so much experience with it. He stayed out a little longer, did some racing against a couple kids on older WaveRunners and then pulled up to his boat. He docked the WaveRunner and looked up to see Jeff there. “I’m sorry about your Waver, buddy, I shouldn’t have done that. Here’s a few more quarts of Yamalube, I’ve learned my lesson. Hank high-fived and thanks Jeff. The two would go on to take tun with the WaveRunners and enjoyed a cold one after. A testimony to the comradery and dedication Yamalube can bring.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for reading. We hope you enjoy our little stories as much as we do. IF you have a WaveRunner story or a crazy water bound story, please give us a shout and let us know. Let us know if you have any tips or tricks too. Thanks again and here’s to Yamalube

Ultimate Guide to Boat Motor Oil

Outboard oil for the boat isn’t similar to the oil which is used for the car engines. The auto engine is usually used on a daily basis while the outboard motor might sit free for several days. The 4 stroke oil is used for the boats that are kept in damp and salty environments contrary to a car. The ideal 4 stroke oil for the boats is Pennzoil 5063875 because its formula makes sure that the engine does run clean while running at varying temperatures. Also, a car has so many gears, which mean that it could cruise along in the overdrive at about 2,000 revs. But, the boat that is under load would be revved out a bit higher for long periods that means this needs more lubrication.

The outboard is not a little investment. Nowadays, engines are tuned intricately to run efficiently within very tough tolerances and most engineers formulate oil, especially to increase the performance and efficiency of the engines. This is the reason why oils that are formulated through the real equipment manufacturer are preferred. Also, Evinrude E-Tec is the cleanest and efficient burning outboard oil the Evinrude has made till date. The engines are also made for running on the XD100 oil. The E-Tec might be programed in order to run on the XD50. While programed in such manner, the consumption of oil would go up. Sometimes, owners see that the extra cost of XD100 oil is just offset by a decline in oil consumption. In case the E-Tec is to use the XD100, then don’t use XD50! It’s formulated just as the TC-W3 certified oil. It’s certified for the direct injection engines as well. This oil is the TC-W3 certified. It’s approved for the pre-mix applications. Mercury Optimax Outboards are also intended for performance and competence and is used in direct fuel injected engines which require special oil formulations.

Before the development of boat motor oil, it’s suggested that the Premium Plus will run in the Optimax outboards; however, it’s since altered to the high-quality Optimax Oil. The Premium Plus is formulated for the direct fuel injected engine. This also exceeds or meets all personal watercraft and outboard manufacturers’ recommendations to use the TC-W3 and TC-W2 in the direct injection two-cycle applications. This boat motor oil is surely one of the best oils available on the market. In addition, the instructions are very simple to understand for anyone who knows a little.
