Hand Over the Yamaha Outboard Oil

domo online blog 3 4-21-14When I was growing up, I used to help my father when he winterized his boat at the end of each boating season and when he got it ready to go out at the beginning of the spring. He wouldn’t really let me touch anything, because he was afraid that I would somehow hurt myself. I was content with watching him work on his outboard motor, without interfering.

Sometimes he would have me hand him a tool or a quart of Yamaha outboard oil. One time, he even let me turn the boat engine on so that he could see how it was running. I always was eager to help in any way that I could. I loved going out on the water on the boat, so I wanted to do anything that I could to ensure that we got more time out on the water.

Winterizing with Yamaha 2M Oil

domo online blog 2 2-24-14At the beginning of November each year, my uncle takes his boat out for the last time until March. He usually spends some time out in the Puget Sound, before taking the boat to a nearby lake to fresh water flush the motor for the season. When he brings the boat home, he quickly begins to follow all of the steps to winterize his boat.

He cleans the entire engine, removing all of the dirt that has built up over the summer and fall. He fills the oil reservoir with Yamaha 2M oil. He takes all of the fuel out of the motor so that he won’t be using bad fuel when he starts up the motor in March. He gets his battery charged and disconnects it from the motor. When he is finished with these things, he stores the boat for the winter.

Showing Care with Yamaha Outboard Oil

domo online blog 4 2-17-14An outboard motor has to work in some really rough conditions. The typical outboard motor comes in contact with saltwater, runs in the water in general, and has long periods of non-use. All of these factors take a large toll on an engine. The fact that an outboard motor continues to work for years and years is actually pretty impressive when you take these things into account.

To give your outboard engine a long life, you have to make sure that it is properly maintained. For most engines, this means using the best oil available for you engine. Using the right kind of Yamaha outboard oil in a Yamaha motor can also add years to the life of the motor. Following the recommendations of the company that made the motor can help you extend its life.

Snowmobiling with Yamaha 2S Oil

domo online blog 3 2-03-14I am not great at skiing or snowboarding. I have terrible balance, so most snow sports are just really unappealing to me. My favorite thing to do up around the ski slopes is go snowshoeing. I love being able to hike in deep snow without the fear of falling in up to my knee or higher. Usually, if I go to the mountains I will be snowshoeing.

Last time I was up there, I saw a bunch of guys with snowmobiles. They were getting ready to go out by prepping the vehicles with Yamaha 2S oil and filling them with gasoline. I have considered snowmobiling in the past. I suppose that my main problem with it, is that I enjoy watching the scenery and listening to nature. That would be hard to do on a speeding snowmobile.

Leftover Yamaha Oil

domo-online blog 4 1-20-14My grandpa recently sold his boat. He has Alzheimer’s disease. After several trips out on the boat, where he couldn’t figure out where he was, he decided that it wasn’t safe for him to take his boat out anymore. This was a difficult decision, but he realized that it was just what was necessary at this stage of his disease. Other people could enjoy his boat still.

He sold the boat, after a couple of weeks of advertising it on various online sites and forums. Soon, the boat was with its new owners. Later, he found an entire case of Yamaha oil left in his garage. He ended up selling this as well. If he had known that it was in his garage before he sold the boat, he would have given the buyers the oil to go with the boat.

Reasons to Choose Yamaha 2m Oil

domo-online blog 3 12-23-13When you choose oil for your boat engine, want something that will perform well and maintain the performance of your boat. You don’t want to choose oil that leads to problems with your engine later on that might cost more than you saved on that cheap engine oil.

As a good compromise, my father discovered that Yamaha 2m oil was a good fit for his outboard motor. He found that he could get it for a reasonable price and the piece of mind he received from using the correct oil was worth the little extra he paid for it. When he used the oil, he never had any problems with it. It was perfectly made for his Yamaha outboard engine so he knew that he could trust it.

Yamaha Oil is Only as Effective as your Maintenance Routine

boatsIt should be just common knowledge: the better you treat something, the better it will work. If you throw your cell phone into a wall, it will likely not work as well as before it smashes into a solid surface. If you talk to someone poorly, the relationship will likely crumble. However, many boaters don’t seem to understand this rule applies to their watercraft.

It’s surprising to see how many people don’t regularly maintain their engine, especially since it’s so easy to do. A 2 stroke engine doesn’t even require oil changes the way a car engine does; just finding the right Yamaha oil to add in will do the trick. Yet many people become a victim to their boat engine seizing due to lack of care for their engine.

Hot or Cold with Yamaha 2w Oil

engineWeather affects a lot, doesn’t it? It can define what kind of mood you’re in, what activities you can participate in, and even how well your vehicles run. We all know to let our car engines run for a bit to warm up during those blistering winter conditions, but what differences come for those who own a boat and are operating under cool conditions?

On hot and humid days, you’re looking to lose as much as 14% of your horsepower. However, this doesn’t mean cold temperatures mean you’ll get even more horsepower. Much like your car, you can’t just blast out of there, but it does pose less trouble than a humid day. Proper maintenance with Yamaha 2w oil can really make the difference in protecting your engine from the ailments.

Learning How to Drive a Boat with Yamaha 2M Oil

1234154012_largeGrowing up, I used to spend a week or two at my extended family’s lake house in Ontario. It was always a long drive, taking about nine hours to get there from our house in New Jersey. While there was a lot to look forward to for the trip, I always anticipated getting to take boat-rides on the lake and get to explore the many islands and coves.

One year, my mom’s boyfriend decided I was old enough to learn how to drive the boat. He showed me how to put the Yamaha 2M oil in, and then we took off into the lake. I was 12 years old and had only ever driven in Mario Kart, but I quickly got used to turning the motor in the opposite direction of where I wanted to go. It went smoothly until I ‘parked’ at the dock.

No Noise Complaints with Yamaha Outboard Oil

yamalube logoI love listening to my music as loud as possible, especially when it’s thundering around me. I prefer blasting it through a stereo to listening through my earphones because I’m pretty sure it does less damage to my ears, and I just enjoy the experience more that way. However, I have run into a problem with my most recent apartment, in that my neighbors don’t like how loud I like my music.

I’ve found a solution that will keep me from getting noise complaints that still allows me to enjoy my music loud and proud. I just fill up my boat with Yamaha outboard oil, take my boat out to the middle of the lake, and then blast my music for as long and as loud as I’d like. Nobody’s gonna call in a noise complaint out on the water!

Yamaha Oil and Keyboards

23328877_CP_photoI’ve been playing the piano since I was young. I started out playing it on a grand piano but eventually I decided that I had a preference for keyboards. After years and years of playing the keyboards, I’ve determined that Yamaha keyboards are my absolute favorite ones, and I never purchase keyboards or accessories that are developed by anyone else.

When I got a boat, I decided I’d be able to make use of my support for Yamaha once again. I figured that if I could trust Yamaha to make all of my musical instruments, I could also trust them to be the ones who make the oil that I would use in my boat. That’s the ultimate reason why I choose to purchase Yamaha oil over the other options out there.
